Are those tyres road legal? They appear to exceed the width of the arches.

it doesnt matter if your tyres exceed the width of the arches, there are no rules in the MOT guidelines to this, they come under the rule of "by means of use" thats why a police officer cant actually fine you on the side of the road for them sticking out and they give you a VDR form to get stamped by an MOT tester. and if by miracle it went to court they would just throw the case out. only rule for the MOT is that they have more than 1.6mm of tread at around 4 points of the tyre and atleast 3/4 across the centre of the tyre and no rips or tears in the sidewalls.
