Hello everyone!

I have joined as I am about to buy another discovery 2 as I really like them.

I just had to take off the road the previous 2001 discovery as the whole chassis was corroded.
I live in france in the alps and they're very strict with the French mot's on modications to the vehicle. I think that includes the chassis.

So looking to import one from the uk. And get help and advice for the upcoming problems.

Hello everyone thanks for the warm welcome.

Yeah I'll give it a go.

This is all I have unfortunately.

I'm away from home so I only have this rubbish photo.
Basically it has a hole in the rear part.
It appears that the previous owner protected the outside of the chassis but left the inside.

It feels very thin if you tap it.

When I went to the local indy garage to see about repairing he got a fancy machine to measure the thickness of the whole chassis and pretty much the whole chassis is very thin.

He could repair but it won't last. He said

So I followed his advice and have given up on that one.

If you look at it it looks really good condition except where the hole is.
