Hi All
Just wanted to say a big HELLO as I now own a freelander and might need a bit of help which might seem a bit ironic for a mechanic who cut his teeth on land rovers nearly 40 years ago but it just goes to show that even the best of us need help sometimes as you will never know it all.
I bought a 54 plate freelander with a bit of a problem, an unusual intermittent diesel knock and misfire, no codes showed up until I done a live test that ended up being a fuel pressure regulator and number 1 injector fault in case that helps anyone with a similar problem. The next thing on the agenda was a full service which is relatively simple with bags of room in the engine bay. The VC was the next thing, I done the old tippex test just to make sure it did turn then jacked the one wheel up and checked it was a smooth slow (not too slow) movement and everything checked out.
I won't be doing any serious off roading as I just needed a good 4x4 vehicle to get me to my bees where my old transit could not go and saves me a mile walk each time
