Hi all you land rover lovers. My name is nick and i have just recently bought a land rover discovery 200TDi on a L reg. (i will post pics very soon although its in bits at the moment) There is a few questions i dont know the answers to, so if you would be kindly enough to point me in the right direction or answer them i would be greatfull.
  • A Land rover or any website that has all the parts and accessories to completely revamp my disco?
  • The arm on the back door where it stops swinging open all the way has ceased to work and rusted badly. Can i repair this or not?
  • Is there any where that does all the interior for my disco as the interior is naff to be honest.
  • And finally for now, i'm wanting to dosome traveling in the disco and was thinking off putting the following things on it:
  1. Uprated springs say a 4inch lifting kit(anyone point me to a good website for these)
  2. Quite funnily some ARB air lockers, is there a cheaper website or does no one heard of these ?
  3. And finally it may sound bizzare but when we are travelling we are wanting to stay in a roof tent, can anyone put a website on that sells them or something like.
Any way i hope you can help me.

Many thanks

Nick - landy93

Forget the lift kit it does nothing to improve ground clearance and dramatically increases the chances of you losing control in the wet or whilst cornering.

Try kamdifflocks for a diff locker.

Ebay for roof tents and the interior.
Paddocks or LRSeries for any parts you need.

But before you spend any money on it remove the carpets especially the rear load area one. and remove the plastic outer sill covers and Check for rust. and get that sorted first.

Oh and welcome to the Loony Zone.

yes the arm is replaceable.

here are the pics of my disco if any of you can help me to overcome the problems on my doors and the wheel arches etc.

front doors might be salvageable with some rubbing down & filler

Back door is fooked get another off ebay

front inner wings and light boxes/battery boxes etc need welding. I'd take the carpet & soundproofing out of the rear load area and also check sills and body to chassis mounts. Because I'll bet good money they're rotten as well

I hope you didn't pay too much for it. Cause it looks like a right rotbox. :(

haha well i payed 600 for it and i thought that was good lol. i hope the doors are salvagable. I was hoping i didnt need a new back door and the front i wasnt looking foreward to doing the frond end at all. It needs welding but the plate is really thin say 1mm i think. The rear loading space i was going to rip it out any way and ive been looking on Famous Four - Independent Land Rover Parts, Accessories, Sales & Servicing Specialist - Land Rover Parts, Land Rover Accessories, Land Rover Vehicle Sales, Servicing & Repair and they do a weld in boot floor so i'm going to get one of them or make my own.

Try Paddocks or LRSeries both are cheaper than FF.
£600 is over the odds for one in that condition. £300/£400 would have been a fair price.

well i thought it was good haha obviously i was wrong but there is a plus side the engine is imaculate and there has been a new clutch and a full service when i got it, so i dont no if that changes anyhting. Ill look at them websites a lot thorough to get the best prices all so. As far as the diff locks go, i had a look at the ''KAM diff locks'' and was wondering if anyone on here has them fitted. thanks

Hi Craig McC here, i see someone has put paddocks up but if your looking for second hand parts try john craddock, they are on the net all the best,
