New steering guard

a mate has one of those 1/4" plate rebel plates fitted to his disco. Being a little hasty he misjudged a corner last week and annihilated about 5 feet of well established matured hedgerow end on, as in completely flattened it, folding his bumper in two and pushing his headlights back in the process  fortunately it didn't bend the chassis, but it would have completely destroyed his steering gear if not for the guard - which withstood the pounding without so much as a dent, so for general use, I'd say the steel gauge is about right.

However, the price is defintely a bit on the steep side though.

Perhaps if you had them custom laser cut (ie not with CSK emblazoned across them) then more people would splash the 85 beans.

just my two penn'orth in hopefully constructive criticism.

JK- thats a perfect reply, re the price i have based it on the looks mainly as these look like the britpart versions, the nene ones etc britpart ones are £156.00 i have seen them for, nene ones i wouldnt like to say lol and i have seen one identical to mine for £245 ;)

He's half way to 50 now keep going and when you hit 50 I will consider giving some constructive criticism until then spam!!!!

Personally chunky is good. Mine is a rebel one and I go over trees and all sorts. Solid as

My inclination anorl, but I guess not everyone would want to carry the weight for say, occasional laning.

Considering the road miles I do and wanting protection better than the none I have for the rough stuff I'd consider it if I had the money.

As it is I'm thinking of fabing my own.....braced 5mm seems a useful option for my needs

I reckon the doc should make them. He seems to be the master of over engineering. That bumper he did ( an I saw it for real) was gargantuan

thank you, 5mm is more than enough for a land rover, all major suppliers use 5mm steel and some use 6mm alloy so if making your own go for that :)

Reckon the imminent sponsership deal is genuine meself....50 posts don't count if tis yer business

It could well be but until then it's spam and not the best way to start trading if it is genuine. Never a good idea to start off by breaking the rules and making everyone look at your product as spam as the image will stick. Should have waited however long it takes and started legitimately, a lot easier to build a good reputation from a neutral position rather than the position he is in now!

Bad business decisions this early on do not give me confidence.

Do you sell many of the drl bumpers at £260 a time?
Other than x mems I dont do production stuff just truck builds , I ask cos most lr owners are very thrifty

Yes i have sold to date 29 DRL bumpers now and i have only been doing them since the middle of this year. Again i have gone in cheaper than the big companys which are asking double what mine are, and mine i know im bias but are much better quality. As you say they are thrifty but the land rover market for fast/lowered defenders has now crept in and is bigger than before :)
