Hello to all.
My names Steve and I am in the process of searching for a Land Rover, so, to get all the info I thought I'd join this excellent forum.

years ago I had a very rusty series 111 safari that literally fell apart before my eyes and that was followed by an ex-military 11a SWB that was great fun.

20 or so years later and I would like a "muddy" toy to play with so forgive me if, over the next few months I ask some pretty daft questions.

I live in Bicester, Oxfordshire and my passions are motorbikes and guitars.
Oh, by the way I am hopeless with computers so don't ask for photos or suchlike.....you'll have a long wait.
Cheers
Steve

Colonials!! Your folk are certainly in metropolis:D, and about as far away from Cairns as you can geographically get and still be in Aus. On that subject, do you know that the distance around Aus at the coast line, is equal to once around the World at the equator, bloody big place hey!!
I havent been to that part of West Aus yet, my next trip is into the Kimberly, that's over their way but still about 3 - 4 solid day's drive from there, one day maybe.

I do know that my brother in law, who lives in Perth but works in Vietnam/ korea and various places, month on month off once took 4 days to drive/heicopter his way across Australia to get Sydney. an internal strike by airlines caused this. Yeah big place.
You must have long distance tanks on your Landy.
Didnt a lot off Landrovers over there come with Toyota engines ????? I remember reading something like that a long time ago.......

I shall certainly pick your brains in the near future. :)

94 Soft Dash LSE. just as LR intended it to be, 100% original and well maintained, except for few protection bars and necessary communication equipment.

Years ago my old man used drive a Holden (?) often over long distances.
He once hit a Red Roo and wrote off the car, waited a day and a half to be rescued.......mad eh
