Hi there

I've recently bought a 2001 auto diesel RR. It was very exciting as i've admired them (mostly aesthetically tbh) for a while.

Now I am learning more about them (and how complex they are) i'm finding pleasure in the thought of the group of people that conceived and managed to put together these things. So much to consider.

Of course, the more there is the more that can go wrong, but lets see.

So far it needed a new wheel bearing and I found a decent RR garage to handle that.

I have a starting and running issue but after a bit or investigating and reading through posts on here have narrowed i this down to faulty leak/spill off pipes that are (possibly) introducing air to the fuel (i can see bubbles in the clear intake pipe). So going to replace them and put a new filter in and see where that lands me.

Ready to get my hands dirty with this motor and look forward to chatting on this forum

Hello and welcome:)
You will get lots of help in the ranger rover section,
best to cable tie or heat shrink the ends of the leak off pipes.

LR designed, BMW tweaked, then given to Bosch to make it work so bit of a mongrel.
Put together in a plant at Solihull by narcissists, likely cobbled if 01/02. They seemed to take more pride in the earlier ones.
Now no one currently at JLR trained with LR/Bosch/BMW at 90s standard so hard to find decent mech for them, but easy enough to learn yourself if you are brave and able.

Welcome
