Hi! I recently purchased a 1997 P38 2.5DSE lhd and originally sold in Portugal (where it still is). From lots of reading about the EAS I downloaded the unlock suite and bought a cable and am pleased with the info I have available on the EAS.

My question is this: Although the car is 1997 I cannot find a OBD 2 compliance sticker anywhere and think that any access to the other ECU's is via scantools designed for the RR as opposed to the generic ELM 327 and cheap handheld units. Can anyone tell me for sure if this car is OBD2 compliant? And what info, if any, would be available with generic scantools like the ELM327?

Thanks in advance for your help, Jim

It is OBDII compliant in the regard that it has an OBDII socket, after that it is not. Basically your ELM 327 will not work on it.
