Hi All
Just got myself a 96 p38 DSE 2.5
It's had the spring conversion done so has the eas fault messages ie max speed 35mph
Read loads of info that you can reset this and remove from messages by using a programme on a laptop and connecting to OBD2. ..
Thing is I cannot find an OBD2 port anywhere on the car...
So how do I remove the eas message from dashboard....

Put the eas system back on, it was the making of the handling of the P38 :)

I love the P38's Air Suspension, cannot imagine it on just springs. Rolling & jouncing all over the shop. ;-)
But, the man has done what he wanted, shame the system cannot be fooled into thinking its all ok to remove the msg.

Nah not me , I bought it like it , cost far too much to put it back as original..the rides fine , just need to clear the screen on dash that's all ..

You obviously haven't driven a P38 on a decent set of springs then !!! if you had you would know that they don't roll and bounce all over the place as you seem to think, I have just converted mine back to air for 2 reasons. 1) the amount of grief that people like you give those owners of P38's on air and seem to think that they are second hand citizans that can not afford to own or run one, and secondly because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Yes it handles a little better and its nice to lower and raise at the touch of a button. Worth the grand that its cost to do, in my opinion no and if it starts messing around it goes straight back on springs.
If you look on the net you will find a few sites that show the jump lead under the drivers seat that turns the message off. Once this is done it will just show EAS in manual mode on start up and then disappear in a couple of secs.

Is there any chance you can help me at all?
I have searched Google , do you put this jumper on the eas ecu? As they are under passenger seat on RHD, although there is an ECU under the drivers seat Maxwell ??
So I'm confused

I am clearly misinformed and I am pleased that the return to springs is a viable option. I remember the old RR Classic used to lean quite a bit on hard cornering but I guess the P38 on stiffer springs is fine (I have no comparison to go by).

I just let the Blue 4.6HSE Rangie go and at 120K miles she was still sound as a pound on the original (AFAIK... I had her for 12 years) airbags.
I am hoping that the replacement 16YO P38 with 13K on the clock will be similarly trouble free.
 
Yes mate if you go on to youtube and type in range rover p38 air to spring convertion it will be the second video by a guy called Philip godderidge. He explains and shows you how to redo the wiring under the drivers seat

Sorry to go on the defensive but it appears that like yourself many owners of spring owned RR s get ridiculed and are knocked down by those who have never even driven a spring converted P38 set up correctly. Air may be best but it don,t mean its best for everyone.
