new owners of a landi

hiya all we have just brought a landrover disco had it about a week its a v8 lpg , but we dont really know that much about it we are having a few problems with the lpg it keeps cutting out and the gauge on the dash is reading empty all the time we have been told it needs a new brain and some other things coming to the total cost of three hundred pounds anyone help please
