Hi all,

I have asked a few questions in the last couple of days so i apologise for that, Land rover ownership is all new to me.

I have managed to get 400 miles roughly from £100 and just wondered if that sounds about right for round town driving, no motorways or a roads cruising at 60mph.
Im not bothered how much I get as I did not buy a Disco for fuel economy, it costs what it costs, I just wanted to check everything seems to be correct-ish.

I have also noticed some owners make some changes when they get a Disco, such as cleaning and changing sensors, fitting an EGR blank?
Are some of these changes worth doing in your opinion, if so I will research them more.

Thank you once again, I appreciate the advice.

I'm assuming its a TD5 and not a V8, especially with that mpg - very good!

Yes, clean/change sensors. Yes blank the EGR - who wants regurgitated, hot, exhaust gas being dumped into the inlet side of the engine?

:tea:

I'm constantly getting around the 33 - 35 mark, dont do town driving and can usually sit on the motorway just under 60.

Sincethe last fill up I've covered -

2 trips of 160 miles and a 40 mile trip plus a few local runs and tank now sitting on half, so around 400 miles on half a tank but as said very careful on the fast pedal

Sounds reasonable. I'm usually getting 23-24mpg on a TD5.

Most recent fill- 83 litres, 430 miles. Most of that was loaded up for family holiday, 5 people + luggage inside, 3 bikes on towball mount, 2 more on roof rack, mostly 60mph on A roads with 100miles on dual carriageway @ 70mph

Sounds like they like long runs :)

I will fill up tomorrow and report back, I think i will be getting around 20mpg but that is with no long runs.

I get about 24-ish with mixed local driving (no motorways). On a motorway run I got 30 without any mods.

Don't blank the egr, delete it completely - £28 from Paddock. Also might be a good idea to fit silicone turbo hoses at the same time as the originals de-laminate internally with age and you cannot tell by visual inspection.

Ah thanks mate,

I have read lots of posts about erg's Mafs, decat, remap etc, I'm trying to make sense of it all!
I'll be honest I don't know what to do, apart from the erg which i am going to remove.
I will do some more research on the others thank you!

Mine seems about average.
Got 473miles from 91 litres so worked out about 24 mpg for town driving, hardly get into Torque Lock!
As I said, it costs what it costs but I thought it would be a good indicator of how its running, Thanks all.
