Hi, all.
New member, here. Been away from the Land Rovers for too long. Recently needed to change my daily drive. In a world full of ECU, cambelts, DPF particulate filters and dual mass flywheels, I decided a series Land Rover was the way forward. I settled on a rebuilt series 3 diesel, with a galvanised chassis and an overdrive. Was a long drive home from Cornwall. But 6 and a half hours later, I was home in one piece. Nothing more than a slight ringing in the ears! Over the moon with the little truck, and the simple engineering that we can still understand. Cheers all.
Regards, Rob.

Cheers, mate.
I'll get round to it. I REALLY need to get the series 3 lightweight out of storage. She's been dry stored for 20 years. Turner rebuilt diesel, overdrive etc, etc. Just need a bit more playtime.

You did well driving a series for 6 and half hours, you should be awarded a medal. When I bought mine I was set for a 3 to 4 hour drive home but a UJ went after about an hour or so, I was wondering what the weired noise was. So the rest of the journey was on the back of a recovery truck. Welcome to Landyzone.

Morning, all.
As for the drive home, it was also a shakedown run for the Land Rover. The previous owner had rebuilt the engine and gearbox whilst re chassising (?) the vehicle. I was able to relax a couple of hours in. My theory was anything bad would have happened by now...., Never been so glad to get home, though!
Regards, Rob.
