Hi
my name is Gudjon and I live in Reykjavik, Iceland. I want to start with excusing upfront all spelling and other poor english skills I have to offer :)

I grew up on my parents farm in south Iceland. Defenders have always been popular here and I pretty much spent my childhood in one.
Then Toyota, MMC and Nissan pickups took over and all tree kinds have been on my parents farm the past 20 years or so. But my dad (67 years old) decided to rekindle his relationship with Defenders and bought a damaged 130 ('98 I think), wich brings me to the main reason im here :) , I am looking for a new top for a 130 Defender and would really appreciate all info about one.

Hope to hear from someone :)

Thanks, Gudjon.

Welcome... You live in the country designed for Land Rover's! I toured Iceland a few years ago although at the time we could only afford a Lada Niva... which wasn't the best for what Iceland has to throw at it!

I'm afraid I can't offer much advise on a 130 roof, try the "wanted" section and of course have a look on eBay. If you find one in the UK and need it shipping to Iceland someone on here maybe able to help you out... I'll happily bring it across to you if you want to pay for me and my Landy to get a ferry to Iceland! :)

Thank you, Land Rovers have always been popular here, Lada Nivas also actually :), but i recon you were not driving one like this Icelandic custom Lada :)

Well, compared to how much a parts dealer here in Iceland wanted to charge for a roof, getting you to bring it on the ferry would propable be a bargain :/ , but lets see, I have a few friends in England that can help me with the shipping :) , cheers.

Err... no... it was a short wheel based Niva for starters... took us a day or two to work out how to get it into reverse too (we never actually worked it out, it just sometimes happened) Definetly an experience!

We saw quite a few nice Discos and 'fenders around though with proper lifts and massive tyres.

I am really keen to return to Iceland so will happily bring it across for you :D

Great idea Bump, of course, I'd have to go as well, back up etc :D

And welcome mr G..........
