Hi all,
I've got a 1984 -110 V8 3.5l sitting in a shed which needs a new chassis. Landy is in good shape apart from the chassis which was sprayed with virudine during the foot and mouth outbreak in 2001. This is caustic and rotted the chassis faster than anything I've ever seen.
I've spotted a possible replacement unused chassis on fleabay but can't tell if it will suit. The vendor doesn't know what engine it is for and I can't tell. I'm hoping there are some knowledgeable souls on here that can give me some good pointers. Can you buy the engine mount brackets and weld them on yourself?
The listing is live now and has the title - Landrover 110 Chassis.

Many thanks in anticipation.

I'm out in the countryside just north of Stone. I'm thinking of having a punt at this chassis whatever and cutting the mount plates off the old chassis and welding them in place on the new. OR.. making some out of some mild steel plate.

Hi and welcome!

If it’s a galvanised chassis, I’d get one for a V8 instead of potentially having to cut off and weld in new mounts, which would damage the galvanised finish. It might be more expensive but likely worth it.

Let us know how you get on with the new Landy.

Welcome to Lz pal, thats a td5 chassis. youd need to weld in, engine & rad mounts
fuel tank (unless you use the td5 tank) exhaust mounts needed too. Not a massive
job ive done it in the past fitting a 300tdi.

Good luck. ;)

The chassis in the listing looks very good. (its been relisted)
