Okay checked batteries - both above 3.2 - connections inside unit seem good but still no led. When locked with the key does the imobiliser on a 1995 version activate or does it need the key fob. I understand it does not have the coil on the ignition barrel as they were not introduced until 1996.

Okay got the user manual - about to print and read from cover to cover.

Yes got the tow bar - didnt think of it like that....... oops.

This may seem obvious but are the batteries in the right way round? Flat (+) to the battery case and the domed side to the inside of the remote. Just a thought.

Yep right way round as well.
