Hello,

I am new to the forum, will have a look around before asking too many questions.

Basically I have two land rover discovery (02 or older) to get rid of and wondering the best way to go about it.

One is in totally knackered, windows smashed in in, won't start.

The other (2002) is in slightly better shape, can start but internally is very bad.

Both haven't been used for 3-5+ years and were previously used as farm vehicles.

Need to shift them, basically wondering is it better to sell as is or strip for parts. I don't know anything about land rovers but am told that the parts are worth a decent amount. Want to get rid but don't want to sell them off for £500 or whatever if the parts are worth more!

Any help much appreciated.
Cheers.

Welcome,

Scrap them unless you want the hassle of stripping them and ending up with a load of junk laying around the place.
Or find a disco breaker who may give you £300 a piece for each of them.

Cheers

Welcome
It's quite simple. 1: Get a piece of paper, list what you have in sellable* parts, then go trawl through ebay and breakers, see what each part sells for. Not what they advertise for, what they sell for. Add it all up.
2: Work out how long it would take you to strip them back to bare bones. Multiply that by what your time is worth per hour.
3: Subtract 2 from 1.
4: Now you know which path to take.
:)

*run ragged around a farm, doesn't make for many sellable parts

Flog them on ebay. List condition correctly.
