Hi to all.
Thank you for having me.
My late father had an old series 2 defender 110. As a 7/8 yr old kid I loved the look of them. I thought they look unbreakable
My Dad proved me wrong (haaa)
I think he snapped the gear stick off at the base whilst on a trip around France and had to change gears using mole grips!!
Which must of been fun.
In his later years he bought a couple of 90’s and then settled for a 2001 defender td5
Which I now have
So it was sat not moving for 7 yrs in Aberdeen.
I flew up and got her running and drove her down to Devon.
I’m slowly going through her and repairing various issues and learning that there is always an issue (haaa)
So now I’m looking to put some bigger fatter tyres on her she’s running Goodrich A/T 265/70R16
I would like to put some much fatter tyres like 305/70/16 Goodrich on her

So I guess I’m asking the question will these fit my truck it hasn’t been lifted not sure if I want to yet. I’ve supplied some images of what I want. Any help would be greatly received.
Thank you all

Welcome:)

I would stick with what you have for now, it looks ok.:)

What sort of use is it gonna get?

Plenty of tyre discussion on the forum. Search before asking you may find the answer.

Welcome.
Km2’s are good M/Ts, bit noisy on road but not too bad you get used to it.

You may have problems that size with articulation/steering at standard height and may need a little lift. Could go same tyre but but smaller?

Others here will have a more definitive answer of what will fit exactly, Lord Hippo will show you the way :)

Agree with the others' advice. I had my 90 lifted (the suspension was worn out anyway) and it makes quite a difference - you get stuck less off-road. It wasn't very expensive. Also more tyre options.

Thank you Hippo I’ll take a look
It’s a bit of a minefield with rims and tyres clearance’s etc hopefully I’ll get to understand it better on the link cheers

Hi again
I’ve bought Toyo M/T open country 265/75R16 tyres and black 5 pipe spoke 8” rims with ET -32 of set. They look amazing on the truck and feel really good on the road too. Very pleased with them. FCEBF8E0-3E2F-4CA2-83B7-2A8D07DDBFBD.jpegBB05855B-4E6F-4D55-B2B0-FC0BCA8DE762.jpeg

Got the same wheels.

And we have loads of weights on the outside too.
I don’t care the wheel is balanced(I hope) hope you don’t now suffer with any sort of vibration.

Weights are placed for a reason:) becarfull just moving stuff cos you don’t like the look:oops:

Hi Marjon
I had the lead weights removed from front of the rims, they looked appalling. I had stick on weights put on them on the rear of the rim which stick on the inner rim and not clipped to the outer rim.
So they are balanced correctly
The BFG’s on the disco rims I had previously were well outta balance. I never really noticed how bad it was until I put these beauties on
Runs proper smooth turns perfectly
And goes through large puddles at speed with no issues at all.
The BFG’s always pulled the truck into the puddle further and sent massive amounts of water over the windscreen plus slowing the truck down massively.
These Toyo’s Are amazing they disperse water so quickly no water on the windscreen no pulling or slowing down through large puddles. And don’t really make that much noise.

Vehicle is a totally different beast now
