Hi All

New poster to the forum, but have been a reader for a bit.
Based in Nelson, New Zealand. Got a Series 3 in the middle of a restoration. Need to find cheaper ways of posting spares out from the UK!!

Cheers
Andrew

Here she is as trailered up from the farm (seven hour journey over an alpine pass on a heavy trailer = LOTS of diesel!)

She's now in bits. I repaired the chassis - normal stuff - outriggers, rear X member, a few cracks. Send it off for galvanizing. Did the bulkhead at the same time. It was pretty sound and straight apart from the very corners of the footwells. Very good around the vents which was helpful.

Really impressed with the galv. Just the slightest trace of a ripple on the top of the bulkhead but mostly below the bonnet line so not seen.

Previous owner had fitted a 2A gearbox, so have now got hold of a 3 to replace it. Also got a rear tub and sold the flat deck for $5 (About 3 quid).

Engine was pretty knackered so is at the machine shop being machined.

Plan is to fully rebuild to a good, but not concours standard. Modern fitments where required (principally electrics). Been a lot of fun so far.

No - the intention is to tidy, not polish!
Some bits were pretty tired - unsurprisingly given she was a farm vehicle for 20 years, but she is straight, which is great.
