hi there
My normally well
Mannered range lost all power the other day
Started with a couple of lights on dash then about 7 came on lights shut off intermittently and I drove for a further half hour then it just dies on the hard shoulder m11.
It’s been compounded near stanstead
As I had a flight to catch Any ideas?
Key turning does nothing, anyone local can have a look? It’s been fine other than the suspension lights been been on and off thanks if you can

Hello.

What Range Rover is it?

RRC 1971 to 1994
RR P38A 1994 to 2002
RR L322 2002 to 2012
RR L405 2012 to present

Or

Is it a

Range Rover Sport?

Little bit more info needed.

what , no crystal ball, lmao

Ps, never realised we both joined 3 days apart some 10 x years ago

Try putting a new battery on it. A good powerful one, not one for a Nissan Micra.

Col

plus 1 to that ref the battery , know it can cause havoc along without knowing what the alternators output is,

Have a split charge system in mine , main battery is a 019

also seen a lot of cases that if a cheap alternator is fitted can cause issues , denso is the one that should be used

Fingers crossed is hasn’t spun the bearings and is indeed just a duff battery / alternator

Welcome to LZ.
As above..... Sounds like Battery is low/duff.
Stick a proper new one on or take a charged-up gel-pack starter and attach it to get it started and then disconnect the gel-pack and look at the battery volts at 2,000 rpm with all lights and heaters A/C etc. ON. if low volts (<14.2V) maybe your alternator is goosed and has led to your battery's demise.

Thanks mate

Have I really been kicking around here for so long

Mystic Mogg is busy polishing my balls :D

I think I was researching for a series 3 3.5 V8 resurrection back then, didn't happen, buggered off to Belgium with an Isuzu Trooper in stead lol

Got one now, practically brand new after the marathon rebuild that has taken place this last 14 months lol

How's your Disco these days? Life has taken over my previous internet addiction lol

Must admit the isuzi do have a good reputation

thks, has come along way , have left to do , brake hoses, rear drop links and replacing some slightly marked interior panels , managed to get some really good second hand ones that are immaculate, also got to replace the ATF oil ,will struggle with that though

oh yes and fit a Bluetooth TMPS that can be monitored via my iPad, also have the apps on my iPad to monitor both batteries

also got an auto dip mirror , rain sensor which incorporates the light auto function , have the gap iid so can turn it all on after fitment , finished the retrofit of D4 steering wheel with stalks, heated windscreen jets , suspension rebuilt, fully serviced , belts done

Now drives extremely nice, comfortable , very quiet on the motorway , cruise control also now done

Knew it needed a lot work when I bought it, bodges took along time to sort out , but at the end of the day well pleased with it and best model I’ve owned so far
