Hello again everyone I joined about 7 years ago when I was running my disco 200 had a couple of problems with it parked it up to fix later and that's as far as it went it's still there 6 years later been running all sorts of cap in between but missed my disco so I've come back bought myself a disco td5 x reg loving it got a few teething problems but they are getting sorted slowly no I've got the bug to do my 200 back up again less to go wrong and all that anyway that's where I'm at so hello again and no doubt I'll be on a lot now I've got a td5 with all the troubles they come with

Hello and Welcome,

As i always advise new Disco 2 owners, get 2 working key fobs and the EKA code. May well save you a lot of pain in the future, Oh and make a friend who has a nanocom for it.

Cheers

Hi mate what's eka code ? and where could i get that from .Only got one keyfob that unlocks doors both with remote and key but it's a different key for ignition a mate of mine has got one of those small laptops what a a and race use for diagnostics is a nanocom as good as or better than that is cheers Allan

Hi Bucks,

EKA code , is Emergency Key Access code, for when you key fob fails to work for one reason or another. if you have any paperwork for the vehicle it may be written in there on a litte card. Or you can get it from your LR dealer with proof of ownership.

Nanocom is much better than the generic OBD II readers in my opinion as it can be dedicated to the TD5 Disco 2. Other vehicle codes can be purchased if you have other LR products. Hawkeye is also good. But there are plenty of write ups on the intraweb about what they do. Maybe your mates AA RAC laptop will do the job , I do not know.

If you only have one fob , then I would suggest getting a second one. It would need the vehicle to be programmed to accept it.

Cheers

Neil
