Hey guys,

So after years of wanting a land rover I finally have purchased a 1993 200tdi defender that has been sat in dry storage for a year, had my eye on it for a long time and finally after more electronic trouble with my van I decided to bite the bullet and put in an offer for it and now with a fresh mot and a good polish she is running like a beauty and I love it.

Looking forward to some newbie banter/abuse

:welcome2: from a fellow 1993 200tdi owner ... any questions I'll probably have an answer after the work I've done on mine in the last 18 months ... worth it though ... and the best engine ;)

Damn right

Well actually......:D

I'm after putting an alarm system on it due to it being my pride and joy, any suggestions? I'm currently looking at Toad Alarm A101cl car & van Alarm, but am open to ideas?

Any help appreciated

Hi Lee, I've steered clear of electronic alarms on mine and use a Disklok all the time (with wheels on full lock). Due to these being very sought after by thieves you need to fit whatever you can but I have to say I would go for a tracker over an alarm on my Landy.

Can promise you'll get an answer. Maybe I'll ask something about paint colours or maybe veg oil in place of diesel - -can't see they've been covered before either

Hope you're well by the way. Find myself in London for 4 days this week - would rather be dismantling my buggered rear diff to see if I'm just looking at a bearing or.....a recon diff!

I was thinking of making up something dramatic and then insulting everyone with more than 5000 posts, before claiming it was all meant in jest...

should make me instantly popular....
