I live in East Yorkshire and I am new to owning Land Rovers and have just bought a 2003 Discovery ES Auto (2.5).
I bought it because I live quite rurally and last year proved difficult in my old Passat Estate!. I have 3 dogs and needed something with plenty of space in the back but also family friendly, the Discovery seemed the right car for the job.
I read a lot of things (as you do) about them, lots of people saying don't get an Auto etc etc. Anyway I got what I wanted and am loving it so far. Takes a bit of getting used to, lots of high revs early on until it settles in I'm finding!
I plan to maintain it myself with the help of my dad who is a retired HGV mechanic. Although I havent really worked on cars much I have worked manually in engineering for nearly 20 years now so am hoping to pick things up.
So thats me, Im looking forward to getting to know you and probably picking your brains from time to time if thats ok.
