Seems to be just another version of the evoque! Who wants to go play in the mud with a computer? They are just going to drop the whole mecanno look and feel. I'd rather buy another 10 Tdi 300's and lovingly maintain them.

I do like the look if the blue image, however I think the days of simplicity motoring are numbered.

It's marginally better than the DC100 but we'll just need to wait and see what the official design is. Theyve no excuse not to stand by the original design. Mercedes have already said that they're standing by the boxy design of the G Wagon and those still sell incredibly well

I dont think its bad the production one will no doubt be squarer at the front

The 8/9 speed auto sounds interesting there will no doubt be a manual option

V6 sounds good :D been wanting a tdv6 defender for ages :)

Completely different market theyre 50k mark plus not exactly farmer budget ;)

The new fenders aren't really within many people's budget either. Not saying that LR have to copy the G Wagon but Mercedes are clearly doing something right whilst staying true to the original vehicle

True to the original vehicle? Have you seen Inside a G wagon, they're like a Range Rover. Almost.

Plus side of a new defender, V6 n no leaks. Might miss the leaks in some strange way...... Then I'll just get back in me proper Landy and have a shower :D

Lol perhaps but you know what i mean. You can draw a direct line between G wagons of old and the new ones. If the new defender is going to be anything like the concepts then it will be unrecognisable next to the old style.

If they square off the front end, make a shorter wheelbase version with 2 doors, build it on a proper chassis with proper axles, and keep the electronics to a minimum... it might just work!
