I am Bert, originally from The Netherlands, but since almost two years living in the UK, together with my wife Ingrid, a couple of cats (barking fluently in English, Dutch and German 
), a bunch of Russian hamsters and a jolly English Rabbit. Our first Land Rover was the Range Rover Sport 3.6 V8.
Since two days we have a Freelander I TD4 automatic. It was a struggle to find a decent one as there is a lot of crab out there! But we made it, certainly thanks to Landy Zone and the pack of information available here. The Freelander has done 114k mls since 2004, Java Black, has 4 brand-new tires (Goodyear Wrangler in correct size and all DOT2316!), brand-new disks and pads, a brand-new VCU and bearings and doesn't look too bad on the in- and outside. Weird enough: After all effort made by the previous owner on the more complex side of things, simple things as all the filters and oil are completely at the end of their respective lifecycles. So now I am about to make a fresh start with a "0-service": changing oil and filter, doing the belly pan mod to gain easy acces to the drain plug, doing the crankshaft breather mod, I will take out the EGR to see the state of it (I am slightly considering to cap it off) and clean all the connected hoses and pipes as well.
