Evening all,
My name is James. I am planning to buy or build a 3.9 V8 Defender.
Having sold our 300 TDI last year and immediately regretting it, and always wanting a V8, I have decided to scratch both itches in one. It will be a weekend toy. Ideally and early defender on a galvanised chassis.(I spent too much time trying to defeat rust last time). Close to 40 years old is the plan.
Any advice gratefully received. I will probably be asking lots of questions!!!

Well, after a summer of searching, I have ended up with a 1966 series 2a with a 3.5 on SU s.
What have I done???
It currently has a bikini roof. I cannot decide whether to go hardtop or canvas.
If I go canvas, can anyone recommend which supplier to go for?
