Hello anyone who reads this.
lots of pictures.I will update more as I go.
I bought a 1972 series 3
LHD
4 speed
w/pto
She’s Ben sitting (i was told 2 years but could have been 15) I have uncovered problematic issues
1. Chassis rot
-i would like some input as far as box frame repairs go?
-i marked proposed areas of repair on chassis with white marker,*before I go cutting to much out *the rear crossmember which I cut off before bracing with a jig.i would like some recommendations? *the vehicle will be inside on level ground.
I have some very skilled friends I will be reaching out to for help,mainly the chassis repairs and tranny rebuild.
She has rot in some of the standard chassis rot spots As pictured.
Low fluids
dry tranny Won’t start
AS OF TODAY:
-new bat and clean grounds
-i got her to crank
-does not fire
-Tested low power to coil,it was good
-tested plug to engine block while engaging ignition and it sparked on the solenoids negative terminal ? Why Would it spark on the solenoid Mounted on engine wall?
-HT to coil had no reading
-replaced coil
-replaced the wires-new plugs
-does not fire (tested Ignition switch wires)
-No spark from HT lead FROM COIL.(i replaced Coil *same outcome)
I HAVE SINCE ORDERED THE NECESSARY PARTS WHICH HOPEFULLY WITH BE IN TOMORROW To CONTINUE MY TROUBLESHOOTING...
while I waited for parts I jumped into the Strip down. Enjoy the pics!
