New engine?

Hi having had problems with my td5 2004 with injector pump falling, and hearing about other problems with this engine, has any one thought about putting a different engine in it like,the discovery 3 v6 or any other type,

What problems might they be.the pump is electric in tank so nowt to do with engine.yes they had a problem with pump bolt, hours work to rectify.they have the odd oil leak so do most cars if neglected.its an excellent engine if looked after.there are some with well over 200 thou on the clock and still pull like a train.look after it and it will look after you.

Yep. no injection pump on a td5 high pressure pump in tank,with a plunger pump on each injector.

yeh i missed the td5 bit but still it have a high pressure pump in the tank and a camshaft pump for every injector no?
ps. im just guessing now

if you didnt use genuine pump dont trust your fuel gauge.i put a bearmach in mine after wifey decided unleaded was a good option.refilled tank with 50ltrs of diesel after 5 miles the fuel low light came on.
