Eavning all,

Been chatting to a Land rover Parts speciaist shall we say no names, A current company are already making johny joint/creeper jointed front radius arms. I've been told that these joints are strong enough for every day driving on the roads on front radius arms.

There are a few people running them on their trucks already,
What do you lot think of the joint holding up over time? They are one of the best joints out there and have held up years on trailing arms but am not sure about the forces going through the front arms,

They would be great for offroad or twist off challenges etc. The company that twist kit suspension parts I'm running are drawing up some plans of their own and said to give them a few weeks for testing etc..

Would there be any interest on here of the johny joint/creeper joint front arms?
For those of you that arnt suspension twist mad folk this would simply give silly amounts of unlimited travel nearly like the 4 link/ 3 link front set ups now being made.

I'm not trying to create any rivalry between the two said part company's so no name please! They may even be members Of LZ who knows ;)
Let me know ya thoughts
;)

Not a fan of jj on radius arms due to the small bolt through the centre of the joint .
Have you made the arms longer to increase flex ie true articulation not DROOP ,as they cannot and will not match four or three link suspension, that is why radius arms are used at the front, to limit articulation for road safety!!
To prove the articulation thing take one bolt out axle end of a radius arm and see how much more it will articulate.
The johnny joint will only be the same as a disco 2 or landcruiser 80 radius arm with single bolt location

I do believe they are extened mounts but don't quote me on that,
The company I'm talking to and are planning some, the jointed trailing arms they do a standard mount and also an extended one to weld on wich would be the better option odviously!
So will have a choice I'm thinking

Bump.
Anyone have anything to say on this??
I've been trawling through devon 4x4 forum history of chat about front set ups and pros and cons etc 3 link 4 link and very little about just a joint at chassis end?
The rough message I was seeing is that's it's just too weak,
Yet I'm assured by said company there strong enough.
Be interesting to see..

I take it the johnny joints used have a 14mm( 9/16) through hole bit small isnt it?

They will give you no more articulation, just less resistance on droop!
