I think most new cars are on a lease/finance deal, after 3 years of ownership hand back and get another car on another deal.

I don't know many people that can afford to purchase new cars outright nowadays, they're so expensive.
 
There are quite a few of them around here, and l've not heard of any issues.
Most buyers have seemingly loaded them with extra tat, one owner l was speaking to said his was £60,000
TBH if l was going to make a choice it would be the basic version with no extras.
lf only Land Rover had done with Defender, what Suzuki has done with the new Jimny.

The Jimny sold out as soon as it was announced, waiting lists extended to "you'll never get one"
The Jimny retailed at around £19,000 for the top spec version.
lf Land Rover could have done it for under £30,000 they'd have a waiting list as long as
your arm.
