I'm talking about tratters of the Puma type here, with the modern dash. Work have a 57 plate 110 cherry-picker on hire at the mo, so I bagsie a drive. Bugger me that's a squeeze once you're in! I know truck cabs are a bit tight any way, but with the 'new' fancy dash looming out at you, there's feck all room for knees, elbows etc. Even worse wearing a hi-viz with pockets full of stuff.
I'm 6'1" and slim(ish) how the hell a fat bloke (no offence intended) would get in is a mystery,
Oh, and that 6 speed gear stick doesn't look/feel right, and it sounds like a transit too. I'll be sticking to my TD5 from now on.

I drove one once and thought it wasn't actually too bad. Relatively quiet compared to mine and seemed pretty powerful. The dash was nice too and i had no problem with space.

Still wouldn't buy one though, 's not the same. Though if I did I'd probably retrofit a 200tdi to it just so its got that proper tratter noise

I'm 5'7" and find our single cab 110 puma is cosy. I just fit and don't quite need the window open. Mates 300tdi single cab has a noticeable amount more room

Defenders shouldn't really have dashboards at all really.

Just a bulkhead with a steering wheel and some pedals sticking out of it is ample.

They just got carried away.

is that we all rush out to by MUD/Raptor/Homemade dashes for our fenders then :)

dunno about the newer pumas, it was the extra bolted on bit for the aircon that got in the way for me.

awfull for space,i cant drive in my boots and have back ache and leg cramp after 20mins
im 6,4,

never will i ever drive a puma again its just possibly more comfortable than sitting on a sea urchin but not much.

Tdi or V8 is the way...

We just got a couple of these new Pumas at work, and the shepherd couldn't fit in the single cab!... he got the managers double cab as a result! They are cramped though.
