Hello everyone. I am a new Defender owner and am hoping for a little advice.

After several years of pestering my buddy I bought my dream defender from him two years ago. It's a 90, 7 seat, V8, convertible with power steering. The hood is starting to fall apart at the seams (literally!) and I need to replace it. I live in Switzerland and the winters can be pretty tough so I want the best quality out there. Who are the best suppliers? Any recommendations?

Thanks, Mike

+1 for All Wheel Trim.
Excellent fit, weather proof, no leeks mohair tilt over int/ext roll cage - Top Quality and good people too!

I have been using Exmoor for the past 7 years or so, I have gone through 3 hoods, they shrink very quickly, they fade quickly and they fall apart after about 3 years. If I were you, living where you live, I would be looking at a genuine hood or a military one, I believe some military hoods also have insulating?

With you not being on the doorstop you want to make sure you are buying a quality product.
Don't know what type of material your existing hood is but if it is traditional canvas then I can recommend both Undercover Covers (UC) and All Wheel Trim (AWT).

My previous hood was from UC and that lasted about 15-years with just a single re-proofing and a couple of new straps, when I got rid it was worn but still in useable condition and I sold it to someone who wanted it for greenlaning etc.
The only reason I didn't replace with another hood from UC was because they were so awful to deal with so I went to AWT (turns out AWT are the same people I bought my 101FC hood from 25-years ago). My AWT hood has been on for 2-years now and is still almost like new.

Both companies were willing to incorporate a few little modifications at negligible cost so have a good think before you order as it is easier to build these in during manufacture than afterwards (additional straps, additional layers at certain points etc).

I would second undercover covers if you are looking for a traditional canvas tilt. Were easy to deal with and is very good quality.

Undercover covers or all wheel trim, I currently have an all wheel trim hood on and it’s superb, been on 3 years and hasn’t shrunk yet

Is it just me or does that look like its tailing off at the rear?
