New Dash

So finally the Defender is back in my possession after three months at the garage..

Today saw me ripping out the old sound proofing to the front cab and removing the seats ready to install new sound proofing...

Hopefully get some time off work to get the dash in place...

3 months at a garage :O what where they doing to it?

I know... It was a job where they fitted it in between jobs..

A lot of mechanical work done included transfer and gear box.. Lots more..

I was in no particular rush.

Busy day inside the Defender...

Sound deadening finished, then carpeted.

All speaker wires and electrics run.

Headliner went back up with the new rear view camera.

New seats got placed in, need to fabricate a plate for them to fit it properly.

New LED rear nber plate light installed.

I was going to replace fuse box to a blade one but I have bottled out.! So next I'm sorting the electrics for my new switches then the dash will be ready to be put in.

Today saw a lot of progress on the Defender..

Lower door sills replaced
Top part of dash and vents fitted
Lower main dash fitted
All clocks back in and working after a few issues with mis labeled or not labeled at all wires..
Hot cold heating wires re run
All door locks now lock.!
Wiring almost complete

The dash is looking really good and I'm happy with it.

I hate the patch work quilt you've installed. But i can see the effort put in so well done on that front.

What else do you have planned?

Sound proofing was a mix, floor and seat pan was 10mm from Flebay, then dynamite under the dash as it's much thinner. The refit was actually easier than getting it out.

Not much else planned to be honest as so much done already to the external and everything else, the interior was the final touch. The new centre console is being covered then this will be installed with a stereo and new switches etc.

As you see below the exterior is looking good IMO...

Fook all constructive about the insults on this ****hole. as for 10year olds, there's a few on here that are probably getting a stiffy at the thought..

Looks well, I think the dash will look better when everything else is in place! Keep up the hard work!

You're right when you say each to his own.

I think it looks like a good idea gone wrong, looks too padded

I'll reserve final judgement until it's completely finished but so far it looks hideous to me

Like the wheels ... are they 'proper' bead locks or just look like them?
