ive had a strange experience with my electric seats/mirrors. my lse came with no drivers seat switches, so i got one and plugged it in. i started to move the seat base switch and the mirrors started moving??? is this happening with yours?

Is it a memory seat switch? If you've plugged a non-memory switch into a memory seat (or vice verca) that could cause problems. What year is your LSE?
 
The rear screen should be able to be adjuasted to close. On mine, the RHS likes to be shut first (rest it shut and then a short sharp whack) and the the LHS second, but on that you have to hold it open slightly and another short sharp whack clicks it closed.

I also need new bumper end caps for mine - they are a truly stupid design.

As for the drivers seat switch, carefully prize off the switches, undo the top cap and spray some WD40 in there, giving everything a good wiggle around - worked a treat on my first RRC.

My chassis is also completely clean and rot free, some of them have survived well! Just a tiny bit if rot on the boot floor, but nothing serious.

Sounds similar mate, mines is closing on the right but not the left, bit of tlc should solve it. The previous owner gave me a spare screen but from what I can remember it it felt like the mechanism not the catch that was out of sync.

The rear bumper parts arent too dear on ebay, I got the end caps from them and the rear bar is a bit cheaper from paddockspares.

As for the electrics on the seat, the Auto spark I use for here had a quick look but didnt have time to delve in. Should get the car back for Friday and will try that when it comes back, will let you know, I apreciate the advice.

I'm not too bothered about the electric windows initially, not sure if there is a way to pull the fuse on these without hampering the drivers seat. I'd doubt it!

Excited about getting her on the road nonetheless. Recon bill is a bit lower than I thought so hopefully the paintwork isn't too dear.

I did buy tires for her though, ****, forgot about that! Another £175 to add on. Hope they fit ok as it was suggested in another thread they are possibly a bit wide, wait and see time.

Mike will know far better than me mate but this is pretty similar to my symptoms. My mirrors constantly try to move but im not sure if that because the memory setting in the seat is trying to move
 
my lse is a 93 model. it did have memory seats but the replacement switch i got was not. i am searching for a memory seat switch, however if a set of similar colour (dark grey) manual leather seats come up first, that may be a better option. (not likely i know)
 
I'm no expert for sure! But it's the only thing I can think of. Easy solution would be adjust the mirrors to wear you want them, then unplug them! They won't be heated then, but that probably won't work anyway :)
 
Good shout Mike, I'll be the only one driving it so even if I can get the seat into a comfortable position I'll be sorted. I did read somewhere the other week about reversing the polarity or somehow by passing the seat switch to adjust it.

I can't see my wife ever driving it anyways, she's young and has no taste in old classics, well, apart from me!
 
All work done for MOT then reverse off the ramps and think the front prop has collapsed, not good.

Have been trying to find some details on the forum about them but can't find a great deal. I'm assuming it's a 10 spline.

Got one to pickup but just hope that's all that's wrong. It's the complete front axle off an older classic, just need to strip it.

Gutted, thought I'd be taking her home with me last night

it will be a 24 spline axle, i think all rangies of this age are. if the prop has broken, you dont need to strip the axle, just un-bolt the prop from the gearbox and diff then replace. what makes you think its the prop?

Basically what the garage have initially diagnosed, it happened late on Friday just when it was coming off the ramps to go for MOT.

A kinda clunk clunk noise is all I remember, was too busy being devastated haha. Then just after its stopped moving when selecting gear.

Better not be the box but they seem convinced it's not
 
rear output shaft in transfer box are prone to go often loss off drive if other fault in front axle etc is not unknown shaft can be sorted with boxes in situ
