New chassis

Hi I'm thinking of buying a new chassis for my 90 but what do I do about chassis numbers in my new one? Also what do I do with my old ones chassis number?
Hope it's not a silly question

Think i have read that if the serial no's are still visable on the old chassis cut it out and keep as proof and think with the new chassis the vin plate cover's it but think you would be able to stamp the new chassis aswell if you wanted to, think this is right

got my chassis to replace next year aswell

Thanks for that Cornish rattler, I could put a new crossmember and outriggers on but I just think in a few years time I'll have to start welding again.
It's a big outlay though and a mammoth task but that's the fun of owning a landy

As the rattler says, cut out the numbers from the old chassis and keep them then scrap the old chassis. Remember the ID for the vehicle goes with the chassis if you sell the old one theoretically you lose the registration and ownership title to the vehicles ID. If you are using Richards for your chassis, pre warn them and they will stamp the numbers on before it goes for galvanising.

I have a bill for my new chassis from Marslands, and a photo of the old chassis number on the old chassis. Marslands don't stamp the chassis for you sadly.

I didn't cut it off as it wasn't in an easy place, but made sure I ground it off before I sold the chassis.

We didn't stamp Robert's new 110 chassis, and the VIC check was just the screen plate VIN and the body plate VIN under the bonnet. No check on the chassis at all.

We also had 'before and after' pictures of the repair.
