Where shall I stamp the chassis number on my new chassis ?

Or should I just leave it, I've stamped an ID into it but not the chassis number

i'd leave it.

apart from harming the galv.. (i assume its a new galv) couldn't you reuse it since it has no id and you have a receipt? seems a bit of a grey area.

stamping a new number wont harm the galv , as it will migrate to recover . It wont hurt to stamp the veh I N close to the id you have already done . It will be immediately apparent that it has not been put there by the vehicle manufacturer . I would suggest that you stamp it in a non standard location as well , so that if it ever goes missing it may be possible to subsequently ID it if it resurfaces . JMHO
