Hello 1 and all
I did used to be on here a while ago but the computer gave up the proverbial ghost and I lost everything and well other things got in the way but if you haven't guessed yet I'm BACK.
Well to start things orf I have question (of course I do) Having started the partial restoration of the Series 11 July 2nd 1958 DOB I have today tried to refit the smiths heater delisted pipes which i bought from an e bayer some time ago but he didn't seem to know how long mine should be either.
SO does anyone know how long they should be?
The reason I say a "partial restoration" as someone is bound to ask is that I wanted to keep all the original panels and to only tackle the parts that really needed it but what happened was that yes I managed to keep everything apart from the door tops. The doors had to have new bottom rails fitted, the bulkhead looked ok but once stripped needed quite a bit of welding repairs. The front panel needed a repair panel and extensive work but I can honestly say that over 90% is what came out of Solihul on July 2nd 1958. Body wise anyway.
Mechanicaly she has hs a complete brake overhaul with every single part replaced apart from the drums.
There are RR diffs fitted with S2a all synchro box mated to a 2.25 cc petrol. New petrol tank and several chassis outriggers replaced and of course a respray.
Well that's about it for the intro but don't forget the question will you!
