How do all,
Been wanting an older landie since I was a teen and that was a couple of decades ago now. Couldn't have one when I lived with parents as the driveway hadn't been grease proofed, and the area was ' not suitable for such a thing'. Then the joy of speed and bikes came along...and hasn't left to be honest. Then a mortgage, then a missus who likes comfort:doh: and then kids:blabla: and even after all that I still want a SWB pick up or a LWB van. Having had a multifuel stove installed recently and an invite to go logging I now have justification and some funds to go and get a real plugger. A friend has given me long term loan of a Vitara which I can afford to use on a daily basis but it is only a mini-pretender and not the full wet dream.
I'm currently looking at a 1972/3 LWB ( same age as me ! ) van so chuffed as nuts, just need to bite the bullet and go for it. Does anyone have any words of warnings/wisdom regarding this purchase or things to look out for when viewing. It looks a tad tired but then I am no fresh daisy for the same age. If I look at long term ownership would anyone recommend an LPG conversion. certainly space in the rear , even allowing for logs.
long enough intro for now
