Hi,
What would you expect to pay for a pre-registered but unused new 60plate 90 Van with basic spec, if you thought you were getting a good deal?

Also, are there many differences between 2008 (58 plate) and 2010 (60 plate) Defenders? Both I think have the new 6 speed box?

The Landrover site mentions new from £20,*** but not sure if that include VAT and on the road price?

Currently looking to purchase, not sure whether to go older with a few miles under it's belt or new registered.

Thanks

I think the "newest" defender is the same since 2007. Apparantly there were issues with gearbox and other parts not strong enough for the transmission but this was ironed out after a couple of years. I'd go new as possible as wangle a super deal.

tbh i would'nt have a new (post 56 plate) as a gift (well not if i could'nt sell it and make a bit )
less room in the cab ,gearbox is fookin horrible, the clutch is flawed (as in it eats um when worked like a landie should be) and and if you close yer eyes while driving it sounds like yer driving a transit
oh and they drink fuel like its going out of fashion , a very marked drop in mpg from the td5 ;)

Agreed, though I do like the new interior which is OK as long as you're not a man-giant. :D

A decent late TD5 is what he wants :)

The newer it is, the more warranty it will have remaining. So if the prices aren't too great, that may be the factor which influences you.

TD5, i prefer the engine to be honest, but i have one so i would. I also like the rugged interior of mine, you want a Disco if you want a nice interior. Having said that, there was a thread on here recently saying Defenders were going up in price with the winter weather, so a late TD5 might be fetching a fairly high price. Oh and dont fancy the £400 plus road tax each year.
