To save myself a few quid (as I don't have many of them) - I'm on the lookout for the above parts to replace as a unit... that way I wont be spending out on labour to replace both on separate occasions. I may stretch to a new torque converter as it is an internal component.

I'm looking for Auto Gearbox complete with Transfer box (including Torque Converter and Viscous Coupling). Anyone have a unit for sale or now of a good source? (is this what is meant by a complete gearbox is?)

Any idea on cost would be welcomed along with any info on how I test the ECU's (Transfer and Gearbox)??

Others recommend calling Joe at Emmots of Colne for parts. The ECU for the Transfer Box is likely to be irrelevant as it only controls the shift from Hi range to Lo range. The Auto box ECU can be checked for fault codes with Faultmate, Rovercom etc but sounds as though it's functioning.
Personally, I'd take out RAC recovery and drive it until it stops rather than changing things without a good diagnosis of the fault.
