L322 Need help, Parking sensors fault on 2010 conversion L322

Hi guys, I've got a front parking sensor problem with my L322 2010 conversion.

It started with a broken wire wire with the old original 2004 sensors, so I fixed the wire and obviously bought all new 2010 sensors.

All sensors are working and I can hear the clicking on each sensor.

**This is the strange bit**

When the engine is off and parking sensors are engaged everything works fine and as it should.

When the engine is on all I get is a constant beep ?

Does anyone have any suggestions, could it be bad sensors, bad wiring? Just strange it only doesn't work properly and I get the constant beep when the engine is on...

A quick google shows parking sensors up to 2009, I would say 2010 are not compatible with a 2004 control unit.

System voltage will be higher with the engine running so that may affect things, maybe your new sensors run at a lower voltage.

When you say you did a conversion what did you actually change?
Our 2011 has front and back but you had that in a 2004 so what’s changed

Also which 1 of the sounders is bleeping when you turn engine on? Or both?

According to manual (although I have not actually noticed but will listen next time) there are 2 sounders 1 in instrument pack and 1 in the rear. Obviously front sounder for front bleepers and back for back

Not noticed 2 beepers in my 2005, just a high pitch for the front and a lower one for the rear. If the later model has 2 beepers then it must also have a different control unit.

They mention two tones and two bleeper in my manual so you can tell if it’s front or back bleeping, that’s all I can say at the moment.

I need to get my wife at the front and my son at the back so I can see where the beeps come from as I run over each of them. I suspect the majority of beeps will be the front

What I don’t understand is you have front and back 2005. I have front and back 2011. What’s different. And more importantly what did OP change in said “conversion “

Parked in a tight space this morning so both front and back were beeping, sure enough there seems to be 2 bleepers on a 2005.

Don’t bother doing conversions your asking for issues especially when headlights etc are not compatible. See powerful uk videos on there site and they show anumber of items about upgrades. Personally if I want a 2012 RR instead of my 2002! I’ll just buy one.

I've watched quite a few of powerfuluk vids, they have some good info.

There pretty good at showing how to get to the trim and body panels

They showed me where the missing bolts should be on my front bumper
