After getting a battery light yesterday I tested my electrics and long story short, was getting the battery voltage (12.3) across the alternator with the engine above idle. I gave it a few thwacks with my persuader to see if I could shake the brushes loose, but nope. (It worked on my old Volvo).
So it looks like it's time for a new alternator, but any recommendations on make? I know you get what you pay for. Denso seems like a good option at a mid range price.
