I'm looking to add a cb radio and move the ecu from under the drivers seat to somewhere safe from water. I have a 2000 model dash and want to put the cb somewhere sensible. I dont really want to buy a new cubby or fit it on the roof so do you have any ideas. Also i have no idea where to re-mount the ecu. I dont want to put it somewhere it will get knocked in the cabin so once again...an ideas are welcomed.

Also i'm looking to go on a great adventure this year, maybe to Norway or somewhere similar for a week or two, anyone done the same and can give me any tips?

Thanks

Hello,

Regarding CB, one of the 110s in our LR Club has mounted his to the dash just to the left of the gear stick, so it is just out of the way of the passengers legroom and of the gear stick.
This is also something i am thinking of doing, however if someone else has a better idea for location than this i would also be interested to know.

Scott.

On a RHD vehicle you can mount it just left of the steering wheel and right of the gear stick, inline with the handbrake for the CB. it's outta everyone's way and doesn't interfear with your leg room.

The ECU, wirings are as long as it need to get mounted on the bulkhead in the vehicle (not the front one). Spoke to some folks during the rainforest challenge that have used Td5 for other competitions. Wiring extention looms do have problems at time of degration of electrical signal and loose connections.

Hi, A couple of companies now do an extended lead for the ECU and there's been articles in the Land Rover press about them, they cost £250, which seems a bit steep. As for trips, take a look at http://www.swedenoffroad.com, an annual tour of offroad sites the length of Sweden. It's from July 8th - 23rd and may be 'just up your street'. We're going with two other parties. DFDS ferry http://www.dfds.co.uk/dsw/en is a bit pricey from Newcastle to Gothenberg, tho. Look at the LRO forum under 'Adventure Club' to see my thread. http://threads.lro.com
Get the Fjordline ferry from Newcastle to Bergen, Stavanger or Haugesund http://www.fjordline.co.uk/ to explore Norway. Fjordline also do very reasonably priced holidays with your motor to self catering cabins and also hotels. The Norwegian LR Club hold an annual rally in July which is reputed to be excellent. Don't now have their address, need to web search.
