Put my 1971 series 3 swb in for an mot today to see what work needed doing before the current mot ran out in mid march only to be told it had passed with 2 advisories one for an oil leak and the other for a couple of perrished seals on the ball joints. I couldn't believe it.

You'll find two categories of testers in my opinion,

1. it's v. old, they're not quite sure what they are doing, so, test a few bits, give it a general check over and pass it if all ok.

2. it's v. old, they're not quite sure what they are doing, so. test it like a modern car and fail it on every little minor detail.
