Hey guys anyone got a front bumper with nato towhitch? if so can I see a pic? I wanna take off my standard front bumper and end caps off my 200tdi and get decent bumper and steering gaurd and dan bar etc but with nato hitch towball etc so can tow if break down via a steel bar etc rather then towropes on roads easier to stop and pull all this jearking with rope drives me nuts

Your insurance won't be happy if you bolt a huge lump of steel to the front of your disco. Old series get away with it because of there age and the fact that they never had crumple zones built in to them. Putting a HD bumper or a winch bumper can give your insurers a getout clause. Bolting a huge lump of a nato hitch to the front of that bumper will guarantee that they'll claim you invalidated your insurance the second you bolted it on and failed to inform them.

If the person sitting in the TOWED car was doing his / her job right there would be NO jerking on the rope, ever.

That person's job is to keep the rope TIGHT, and NEVER to let it go slack, especially when the tow-car has to stop.

Blurryell!! a nato tow hitch is HUGE:eek: Why wid ye want one of them things on the front?
If ye look at the photie, ye'll see a nato tow hitch in the green tub (ignore the stuttering lagers;) )

Of course you could do what most peeople do. Heat the ends of a scaff tube and beat it with a big hammer till you can get a shackle inside then drill an hole thru the tube and use a bolt to stop the shackle coming out. Or even easier just buy a rigid towbar from Halfrauds.

i have used a ridgid tow bar and pulled a few rangies with it on breakdowns as a self tow wont work and it worked a treat even with someone in the rear veichle you has never been towed before. cost me 15quid, money well spent!!

Is your Discovery that unreliable?
