I know a few people have got Nato hitches on the back of their Landys - I've just got mine, and was planning to bolt it directly through the rear cross member (it's got a reinforcing plate for the reverse side). Is that acceptable?

I've got to mount the electric hook-up too. Looking for ideas as to how to mount it so it doesn't look pants, and isn't going to get ripped off!

So I guess that answers the first question! Keen to know if anyone has any bright ideas for a neat way to mount the electrics. My cross member doesn't have a PTO hole so that's not an option.

How about running the wiring out the chassis leg like normal, up behind the bit of rubber that protects the rear light wiring from muck thrown up by the tyres then cut a hole through the rear quarter panel just above the rear crossmember, near the fog light on the opposite side to the number plate? Seen it done before it looks neat/doesn't get clogged with crap. Planning on doing that to mine soon:D

Mine is wired between the small gap in the bodywork and the x member. drilled 2 small holes and bolted it on. its high and out of the way.

If you have a TD5 rear x member run 2 reinforcing plates as they are made thinner than earlier models.

Nope - it's a 1988 Ninety. Was planning to use two plates, and optionally put tubes inside the cross member. Will have it ready and make a decision when I come to fit it.

Got any pics of your socket mounting? I like what Buster did (found another thread on the subject) but have concerns it'd get ripped off when off-roading.
