Discovery v8 petrol 2001

Hello all I admit I am not very competent with my Nanocom and hope one of you can guide me on this please.I do read the the information from Black Box, but some of it is beyond me....

I scan Disco every so often and did it today after a 100 mile drive.

I found this?

P1000 = LAMBDA SENSOR UPSTREAM
CATALYST BANK 2 DRIVE CYCLE C
OCCURED 7 TIMES
SIGNAL INVALID
FAULT IS CURRENTLY PRESENT
FAULT DETERMINED AS INTERMITTENT
FAULT DOES NOT CAUSE THE
MIL LAMP ACTIVATION

I stopped at a garage I go to on the way homes i thought it might be a O2 sensor gone wrong. They told me its nothing to worry about and P1000 code is just the ECU doing things and my scan interrupted its cycle....sounds wrong to me, but then again I just do not know....bit lost.

I searched the web and it did say on some sites the P1000 was a code not to worry about, but I am so so unsure.
When I bought the car I was told the O2 sensors had been changed, as its written in Japanese cannot be sure.
Thank you for reading my ranting.

P1000 could be a dodgy connection on the sensor or it could be a sensor on its way out, hence intermittent. Might be wrong but i think it relates to the sensor heater circuit

Thanks Kermit will check it out it’s hard to get at,but will keep on it.I went over 100 miles so it’s not very intermittent,
I will update,discovered Land Rover want a whopping £174 for a sensor!

The front (upstream) and rear (downstream) O2 sensors have different connector plugs.
I much prefer NTK O2 sensors part #25623 UP & #25624 DOWN or Walker #350-34462 UP & #350-34188 DOWN; ***NOT Bosch!***

FYI, on UK models there are only pre-cat O2's
I've had p1000 loads of times and been told it is the ECU going through certain cycles before setting itself up. So it's saying it hasn't done that cycle on the 02 yet. Some of the cycle conditions can take a while to present themselves, so you should leave it, and check back after a week or 2.
I've got the same year and engine as you and had loads of 02 issues, I've also changed the 02's a few times to no avail, but then the problem has gone away when I've changed something else, MAF being one of them.

Thanks for that information Mattni, very interesting.Mine is a Jap import.
I cannot find any post cat sensors yet on the car. Its hard to see underneath.I will re connect Nanocom and see what i can find.
I will take your tip and leave it for a few weeks.
I did replace my MAFF sensor a few months ago and it made a great difference.

Thank you again.
