Hi,

As u may know I got a dead Evo, I have read that I can do the upgrade again and it effectively writes over it, however, mine is running 1.07 which is not available to download.

Anyone got the files for 1.07??

That is the firmware i think, you cannot upload anything to it if you have no selection screens. The firmware controls the download or update if that is out, it will have to go back to BBS to be sorted i think.
Contact BBS and ask them.

Thanks for ur reply. I have contacted BBS, but guessing they will reply Monday.

If I plug in the USB it goes to the 4icons, kernel, firmware etc. I click kernel, load the update program, click all the upgrade etc, then is says the version I am running (1.07) is newer than the update (1.06).

I'm guessing cause I only had it a few days.

Worst thing of all is the car has disabled itself again!! And in a dodgy area of town :(

I think my door mech box thing is not working cause the car won't take eka via key, is they another way apart from diagnostics??

Sorry for all the quedtions!! ;)

Thought you said you had lost the screens.
On mine if you goto the info screen it says.

Kernel firmware Rev 1.07.

Main firmware Rev 2.2.

Graphic control firmware 1.04n

OBD firmware 1.04n

Looks like it has rebooted if you have the screens and can go through the menus. Have you tried it on the car. It may not be the Nanocom, it maybe you have a bad connection on the OBD socket. Think you had better read the instructions several times. BBS 1.06 is an upgrade it is not firmware, it changes programming and settings within the Nanocom.

Sorry, I meant dead as in no use.

It all worked perfect and then went wrong. It does the message attached plugged into the vehicle.

I have read the manual and mainly understand it.

I just thought that putting the latest version in it again might overwrite the fault. But mine seems to have a later version than the one that is available for download.

No worries, I will await a reply from BBS. Mean while I'm gonna get me and oyster card!!

Entering the EKA does seem to be a bit hit and miss. The procedure I have found always works on my car is:

1) lock driver's door
2) enter code
3) unlock door
4) open door - alarm emits a 'beep beep'
5) close door
6) lock door
7) enter code
8) unlock door - at this point, ALL the doors will unlock and the car will no longer be immobilised


May not work for you, but worth a try - the key thing is, I have to go through the process twice... it never works the first time.

Don't think you understand James. BBS 1.06 is a program UPDATE, NOT the firmware. If when you plug in the USB you get everything loading up. But when you plug it into the car you don't, something is wrong with the connection to the car it would seem.

Ok have looked at mine. When you connect up you are getting a USB symbol and four other options Kerel, Firmware, Graphics and nanocom. When you press Nanocom you are getting what you see on first photo is that correct?

Yes, I get the first pic followed by the second pic a few seconds after. This is when I plug in USB and then press Nanocom and also if I plug into car.

OK with you now. The firmware is corrupted then. It cannot find program so looks for a backup on SD card, no SD card no backup. Think it may have to go back to be reloaded unless it can be done remotely by BBS. Think you can make a backup copy if you have a SD card loaded and reboot from that, if it happens again. Think i will be getting an SD card for mine just in case.

Wammers, think we are finally singing from the same hymn sheet!! I need to learn to describe things better!!

Hopefully BBS will contact me tomorrow.

Good idea about the backup, will get me an SD Card for when I get it sorted. I have read on an Austrailian Forum that it is fussy on the SD cards it reads. It defo doesn't do HDSC cards, if I find it again I will post the list of tested ones for everyone.
 
All sorted guys!!

BBS we're really helpful, they rewrote the exe file for me to wipe machine then reinstall the software!!

Thanks to everyone for there time and help.

Also see quote from there support "The SD cards we recommend
are Kingston or Scandisk as some of the cheaper makes just do not work
correctly. You can use a 2 to 8 GB SD card but not the SDHC cards."
