I've got a bit of rot set in at the end of the joiny-strip-thingy that seals between the top part of the cab and the, erm, bottom bit. I guess I can replace some of it after cutting the affected bit out. Problem is, I don't know what it's called!

Anyone??

Sorry, been one of those days. :confused2:

couple of hundred i guess now.

i picked up a new set of old stock galvanised genuines for 90 quid off that there ebay and thought igot a good deal......

look at yrm as an option for them.

It's only the ends nearest the front doors that are affected (first 3-4 inches), the rest looks ok. Perhaps I'll cut out the bad bits and fill. False economy??

False economy, as you suspect. Getting the roof off is a bit awkward/heavy, so while you're at it, you might as well replace both sides with a "fit and forget" galvanised option. IMHO.

I got my capping brand new and owser coated for £40 a side. I wouldn't bother chopping because you don't know how far it's rusted under the seal. Mine was pretty bad under the seal so replace the lot. It's not that bad of a job to be honest. Don't take the just the roof off, take the sides off while there attatched. Drill the rivets and it just slides in. Don't forget your new seals. I done this job on my own. Took about a day of sun
