Hello. I got a problem. When I switched the key ingition off and key is out of barrel. Engine still runs. So I thought the valve switch. But when I pull the wire off its connector engine stops. That tells me. Small current still feeding the stop valve. So I checked with voltmeter and even removed the speedo fitting thing to access the black fuse box. All checks ok and no live feed after switch is off. I cannot trace where the live feed comes from.

At the moment. The only way I turn engine off is by removing the key and switch the fan heater on and it cuts So by doing that it removed the feed. Strange

Hi. I have changed the stop solenoid valve no difference. Then when it was running the wire (white) to the solenoid I pulled it off and it stops the engine. That tells me it is not the solenoid issue. I think maybe alternator back feed. But I trace the power and it not from alternator. Aargh!! Lol.

Flat. The actual switch ? U reakon. ? Could it be that simple ? Lol.

worth a try in case something is not right withing the switch itself, maybe take it out and clean it up and inspect it befroe shelling out on a new one, i dont know how much they cost

I swapped mine for a britpart one, it would only stop when I pulled the wire off, you could take the key out and it would still run, so out of desperation I stripped and cleaned the old one put it back on and it worked fine. The 'plunger' on the Britpart was a different shape and although it would stop with the wire pulled off it wouldn't with the key switched off??

Yeah I replace my alternator thinking it would cure it but didn't :(
