I have just found what I though was a major fuel leak under the landy. I spotted it when I stopped to fill up. It’s under the driver side just above the drive shaft universal joint, behind the bell housIng (towards the rear). It’s a rubber grommet and leaking lots of drips of what tastes like plain water?.

I was hoping maybe it’s the condenser for the air con but think that’s really unlikely. Non of the other fluid or coolant leaks and it tastes clean so i though maybe washer jet leak?.

It splashes everywhere when driving and drips for ages after I park up.

So I drove it this morning, same 1.5 hour journey, no water. I ran it in heating economy mode So without the air conditioning, is it possible it is condensation from running the air conditioning unit?.

where is the A/C outlet, is it in the picture?

I don't have a vehicle with A/C but I have seen this on some of the works cars. I don't know how much A/C condensers 'leak' but I imagine its depends on how hard they are working. If it's not coolant and not washer fluid there's very little else it could be, unless its rainwater pooling somewhere then 'spilling' when you drive around.

^^^+1 they're the buggers that drip on the xyz switch on the auto's. As @Interceptorxj says there are 2 so you may need to poke one with a stick to unblock it. Make sure your face ain't under it or you'll get a good wash :D

Ahhh thanks guys so there are two, I only get water from one, I will check to see if it needs a clean the other side. Strange design to have to much water leaking down the transmission tunnel onto the connectors.

Hi, it will be water out of the A/C system & like others have said there are two outlets either side of the tunnel so you should get two puddles. If it is an auto push an extension tube up the outlet on the same side as the xyz switch long enough to go below the switch (after making sure both the outlets are clear).

Thanks Andy. It’s a lot of water and quite a shock to see. I think one side is blocked and will have a look tomorrow.

that’s a good idea about extending the drain, not sure why they aren’t like that from factory.

No nor 'am I, it's only the autos that can suffer that's why I extended mine.
